Open graded mixes are high air void mixes that result in quick drainage, improved skid resistance and reduced hydroplaning and spray. Open graded mixes reduce road noise and are an economical alternative to sound barriers, while the increased durability improves rut resistance. Open graded mix is useful for restoration or new construction at varying depths, either mixed in place or stockpiled.
